You don’t have to be great to start,
but you have to start to be great.

At Spine Stretch Studio, we practice STOTT PILATES focusing on restoring the natural curves of the spine, rebalancing muscles surrounding the joints, and using a specific breathing pattern to engage abdominal muscles and decrease unnecessary muscle tension in the neck and shoulders. There are preparatory exercises and modifications to make the exercises safe and effective for everyone. Pilates is a stress relieving way to achieve and maintain optimal fitness and a sense of well-being.

Franklin Method Workshops

Duration 3 hrs or full day | Cost $150.00 per workshop or 250.00 for full day + HST |

Franklin Method teaches you the know-how to make the most out of the body/mind continuum in a practical and hands on manner.  We address the mind through the use of imagery in all its applications and we address the body by teaching you how it is designed to function.  Franklin Method is at the forefront of practical neuro-plasticity; showing you how to use your brain to improve your body’s function.  It teaches you how to harness the transforming power of the mind.  It can be applied to improve all of your abilities.  It all starts with the knowledge that we have the power to change.  We are not reinventing the wheel, we are simply connecting the spokes — body/mind, posture, breath, health, imagery and motivation.  We bring together the disciplines of western and eastern science, sports psychology and somatics into a clear and practical format that professionals and laypeople alike can use.  You can use this know-how to reach your full potential.  Franklin Method makes you fit for life.

ELDOA Workshop

ELDOA Workshop

Duration 2 hr | Cost $40.00 + HST |
ELDOA is both a stretch & an exercise where you sweat and you aren’t even moving! The ELDOA are a series of static postural exercises that decompress joints and allow normalization of function locally and globally across many body systems. It was developed by world renowned French Osteopath Guy Voyer, DO.

Some of the benefits include:

  • toning the intrinsic muscles of the spine for more stability and less injury risk
  • normalizing nerve function through spinal disc decompression
  • stretching the suspensory muscles and connective tissue for organs
  • Increase postural health
  • Reduced back and joint pain
  • Increase stability
  • Enhance athletic performance

Everyone benefits from ELDOA. The posture itself is a static hold for one minute that creates an aerobic metabolism and the byproducts of which are heat and water- sweat! That’s right, you’re not moving, but you’re sweating. This building up of heat and kinetic sense in the spinal joint creates a polarity change at the disc membrane level allowing sodium ions and water to flow back into the disc, rehydrating it and increasing space in the joint by normalizing supporting muscle tone. In some cases a fluidic model for performing an ELDOA may be used where the person goes in and out fluidically holding only for 10-15 seconds a few times to release adhesive patterns and move more fluid initially before attempting, as a progression, the full ELDOA.

This 2 hour workshop will introduce you to the understanding and benefits of ELDOA.
